Entrelac is turning out to be a whole lot more fun than I expected. I signed up for Gwen Bortner’s Entrelac Course on Craftsy mainly because – Gwen Bortner! – (teaches it) and she is a teacher’s teacher.
Weaving has never really held my interest, and I’m not a fan of checked patterns in general, but I see people writing about on social media, and the rumor that if you do entrelac you ‘knit backwards’ or ‘knit left-handed’ demanded more exploration from this lefty knitter.
I’m already hooked!
And it turns out the rumors are true – if you want to knit in the opposite direction, you can. But, if you prefer to turn the work, you can do that too. Extremely cool! I just started the first of three projects, the patterns for which are included in the course, and I had to use tremendous self-control to stop knitting long enough to write this post and tell you about it.
So I’m going to get back to it, so I can finish this project today. It seems I’m not alone. The stats show over 5,000 people have enrolled in this class. Here’s the link to the class.
